Taco Bell to add 12 more cities to its grid in next 4 years

Taco Bell is moving in to further expand its reach in 12 more cities in India in next four years. Currently, operating in nine stores in three cities, the brand which specialises in Mexican food is planning to add three more stores by year end, hence, taking the total count to 12 stores in India.

The company has partnered with the promoter family of Dabur, the Burmans whose firm Burman Hospitality has taken the franchise for north and some southern markets such as Karnataka and Telangana.

While elaborating on company’s future plan, Ankush Tuli, MD, Taco Bell India said that brand’s initial focus will be the top metros and their neighbouring cities. Company is already present in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. These three are important markets. Now, it plans to spread its wings to other major cities such as Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Pune, Ahmadabad etc.

In a place like Chandigarh, company is aiming to open two to three stores. Places like Bangalore could take 10 to 15 stores, adds Tuli. Shedding more light on company’s franchising plans, Tuli further commented that the company is open for more franchising partners as in country such as India the franchising model works best with multi-channel partner.

Taco Bell has now tikka masala burrito. The brand is among the few global markets of Taco Bell which has an R&D facility. The entire vegetarian range is made for India as we do not have vegetarian out side much of India, adds Tuli.
